Do Kangaroos have Zippered pouches!

What an interesting question, right?  I always thought that kangaroos are pretty cool animals.  I mean they NEVER lose their keys!  How awesome is that?  Yea, yea I know they don't drive, but let me dream!

So what does this all have to do with anything?  Well, this week over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is Kangaroo and the theme over at 2x2x2 is Zipper.

First up, Kangaroo.  This one took a looooonnnngggg time for me to figure out something.  How to portray a kangaroo in an inch of beads??  Then I remembered there was a thing called a kangaroo pouch, it is a sling kind of thing that a person can wear and carry a baby in, keeping them close to you.  So, with that in mind I designed a pink and blue design of a Mommy and a baby.

Doesn't scream Kangaroo but it was all I could think to make.  Also, this week over at 2x2x2 the theme is Zipper.  This one was also another hard one for me.  After wracking my brain, and searching the internet I finally got it!

Did you know that there is a spider that makes a web that looks like a zipper?  Well now ya do!  Here is what it looks like.

Well, this is what it looks like in beads!!  That is it for me this week.  Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and 2x2x2 to check out all the great artwork that the amazing ladies have done  this week and maybe just jump on in yourself!

Have a blessed and creative week my friends.

Pandas in the Red

Hey everyone thanks for dropping by this week.  This last week has been a whirlwind.  Work has been busy and my son had his last day of school on Tuesday!  Sunday he graduated!!  I am sooo proud!  My baby has graduated High school and now he gets to jump into the real world!

I did get a small amount of time to work on my inchie.  I really loved this weeks theme.  Panda.  Did you know that there is a red panda???  There is!  I first learned about it when I went to an online bead store Red Panda Beads. It is one of my favorite shops.

Through Betsy, the lady who owns the shop I learned about Red Pandas.  Did you know they are endangered!  They also have a tail stripped like a raccoon.  Follow the link above and find out more about these beautiful creatures.  They are so adorable!!! Check them out!

Now, my take on a red panda is not as cute as the real thing but still I kinda like how he looks.

Here is what a red panda looks like, ADORABLE!

That is it for me this week. Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and 2x2x2 to check out the great makes over there and jump in, the pool is great!  Have a blessed and creative week my friends.

Koalas in the Garden

Hey everyone, I would like to shout out a belated Happy Mother's day to all the Mommas here in America.  I know that it is celebrated on a different day in the UK.  My Mothers day was spent cooking and chilling out with my kids, and doing some beadwork.

To that, over at Every Inchie Monday the theme was Koala.  They are such cute little guys.  I would love to hold one of them.  I am sure he wouldn't like me to hold him though lol.  For this inchie I used 4 colors, I think I should have used a different color for the background as it really blends in with the greys.  I think he is still cute.

Also this week over at 2x2x2 the theme is Garden.  Now, I do not have a green thumb, more like a black thumb.  I can almost kill a plant just by looking at it!  My kids know that I am this way so they don't buy me flowers, and I am ok with that just because, well...the black thumb thing!  LOL.

Back to my twinchie, I decided to go a way different route.  All the way to New Jersey!  The Garden State. I mean, why not!  On this one I did an outline of New Jersey with the Capitol marked by a blue dot.

That is it for me this week.  I hope everyone had a great Mother's day and hope that you are all having great weather right now.  It is starting to be warm and I am loving it.  Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and 2x2x2 to check out the great artwork over there.  Have a blessed and creative week my friends.

Pink Birds on the Prowl

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by this week.  I only have 2 things to show off this week.  Over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is Flamingo.  I have to admit I am not a fan of them, flamingos.  I don't know if it is because they are pink ( I am not a fan of the color)  or if its their funky legs.  Either way, I am not a big fan.  But, I did end up liking the mirror imagery that I did on this one.  What do you think?

Sorry for the shine.  I just can't seem to get a good pic without the shine.   Also this week I worked on a small project for the monthly challenge over at Seed Beads and More.   This month's theme is gifts for guys or Beadpoint.  So I chose beadpoint.  Beadpoint is beading on canvas or Aida cloth; like cross stitch.

I decided to do a small project while I am waiting for beads to work on my bigger project. I had some plastic canvas and decided to bead some crystals onto it in a heart shape.  On the first one I used 4mm bicones, as you can see it did not go too well.  The second one has 6mm bicones and was just right.  What do you think?  I really like it.

I am thinking of adding a string and hanging it in my window.  I wish this picture showed the shine that is on the crystals.  I can't win for trying!  haha.

That's it for me this week.  Don't forget to fly on over to EIM, and 2x2x2 and check out Seed Beads and More.

Bees on the Ocean

Hey everyone thanks for stopping by the nest this week.  I am really happy to show you my makes this week.  First up is Every Inchie Monday where the theme is Bee.  So I decided to take a cue from a twinchie I did back in 2015.  This one only has 2 colors, and is the beehive.  It is a bit hard to see but if you squint you can see it lol.

This week over at 2x2x2 the theme is Ocean and I was really excited to make this one.  I did a mermaid and tried to make the surrounding water look like it is moving, but at the last minute I changed one of the colors of the water and it ended up not looking like I wanted it to but I still really like her, what do you think?

Also this week I did a few more pieces.  I made another mermaid.  She is adorable, but she was not as easy to bead up as I was hoping, lol.

Lastly this week I beaded up a Cardinal.  I am working on making some family charms.  This is the first one.  This and the mermaid above are not my patterns but I don't know who designed them.  If you know please let me know so I can give them credit.

That is all I have this week.  Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and 2x2x2 to check out the great works over there and jump in the pool, the water is fine!  LOL  Have a blessed and creative week my friends.
