Dogs Bring Good Fortune.

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by this weeks blog.  I am just getting out from under this January uckyness that I seem to get EVERY year.  I get so sick that I miss a week of work, don't eat, and sleep all day.  Sounds like a vacation just with fevers, chills, coughs, body aches and runny noses!  YAY ME!

Enough of that!  After all that time I finally felt good enough to do some beadwork.  This week over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is Dog.  Who doesn't love a dog, am I right?  I love dogs, always have!  But I am also nervous around big dogs.  I fare better around little dogs.  An inchie dog is definitely little!

Doesn't he look cute?

Also this week over at 2x2x2 the theme is Fortune.  This is the 2nd Twinchie this year and the 2nd one that I used words only.  Made me think about the fact that it might be very cool/hard and possibly poetic to have the whole year in words.  But, I am not gonna do that this time lol.

I like the saying but I have not been happy with the design of this one since I made it.  I did not set the words evenly on the twinchie.  Mostly because fixing that would mean redoing the whole thing.  Then, as I finished the "Brave" part I realized that I made another BIG mistake. Do you see it?  I did not until the end.  Ok, I will let you in on it.  I designed the U and the V the same!  ARG!  I think maybe I will stick to pictures and stay away from words for now, lol.

Also this month I have joined the 3rd annual Facebook group Bead Peeps "Swap and Hop".  What that means is that I will be paired with someone else, we will give each other some of our own beads, make some jewelry with it, blog about it and post it in the group.  I have done this one time before.  It was pretty fun and nerve wracking LOL.  I can't wait!

That is it for now, I am going to go and have some chicken noodle soup with a side of a box of kleenex.  If you are interested in joining in EIM or 2x2x2 then follow the links and have fun.  Have a blessed and creative week my friends.

  3. I commiserate with you re the January blues - I usually get February blues but this year it has struck me earlier with this awful flu which I cannot seem to shift so well done you for doing such a delightful little dog in beads - your beads must be tiny - he is perfect and I'd love to cuddle up with him in front of a fire !!! 4. Sorry to hear you are not well, your little dog inchie is fabulous...the more I see of your work the more I am tempted to start something, and an inchie sounds just perfect...but I suppose like all things the tinier it is the more skill and design expertise one needs! Maybe one day...Dixx
