This week over at Every Inchie Monday the animal theme continues with Horse, but this week I decided to do something different. Since I did a Donkey 3 weeks ago I couldn't do something similar. So what I did do was a horse shoe.
I used 2 colors of Delicas and there is a funny story behind the colors. Many of you who have followed my blog for a while know that when next years list is posted I start designing the inchies and twinchies.
I try to design the easy ones first, then go and search the web for ideas. Most times I work on the inchies one day and the twinchies the next. I don't really pay attention to the dates when I design patterns. Which is what makes this weeks patterns even cooler. Why, you ask? Because I ended up using the exact same colors for both patterns! I don't think that has ever happened before!
So, this week over at 2x2x2 the theme is Lion. I have been waiting for a long time to bead this one. Lions were my late husbands favorite animals. So I enjoyed this one so much more because of that.
I also liked this one since I made use of negative space. Negative space is the space around and between a subject. It is used to make the subject "pop" by just being there. Negative space is something that I am not comfortable with. I really like to outline my designs and have clear lines of designs. But check him out. I really love this guy.
Also, see what I mean about the same colors. I am blown away by that but not to surprised. I have a tendency to use similar colors in my patterns because they are some of my favorites and I seem to see my patterns in those that I use the most. I guess I am predictable. I am good with that, lol.
Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and 2x2x2 to check out the great art work over there and hey it is fun, why not join in!! Have a blessed and creative week my friends!
Good Luck with the surgery. I hope all goes well for you.ReplyDelete
Wonderful bead work and clever idea to make a horseshoe for the inchie. Maybe that will bring you lots of luck--I hope so
Love Chrissie xx
Thanks Chrissie, i had not thought about the horse shoe like that!Delete
How cool is that 🦁 lion! I also love that you've gone with a horseshoe so as to keep some variety in the inchie collection. Good luck with the surgery & a speedy recovery to you.ReplyDelete

hugs Wendy xx
Thanks Wendy for the well wishesDelete
Your bead work is wonderful as usual...you know, I almost did a horse shoe...after a couple of days of failed horsey drawings it did cross my mind that a horseshoe would be much easier for me to draw...not so sure about the beading design though! Your lion is very spekky too, every good wish for your surgery...it will be a good feeling when it is behind you...DixxReplyDelete
Thanks so much, Dianne and thanks for the well wishesDelete
Love your idea of a horse shoe - I saw what it was immediately and thought how cool - plus your lion is awesome - I love him and like you I have an issue with negative space but it really works - you have done it so well and in beads too! Exemplary! Wish you luck on Friday - hope all goes well and you feel much better afterwards - I know it will take a bit of time but at least you will be over the main horrid part. At least you'll be able to eat without those horrid pains. Love JennyReplyDelete
Thanks so much Jenny. Your words give me comfort! Have a great oneDelete
