Engrave Inchie and a new necklace

What do you get when you don't pay attention to what your doing?  You get to do the wrong inchie for the week!!!  ( I am gonna blame it on the time change LOL)  Needless to say, if one of the ladies had not mentioned this weeks inchie on her blog for this week i would have been posting about forests right now.  LOL

But I did get my stuff together and I got this weeks inchie done.  Because this weeks theme over at Every Inchie Monday is Engrave.  My first thought was an award or plaque that you get engraved.  So when i designed the inchie I used 4 colors of Delica beads.  Chocolate Brown, Silver lined Gold, Silver and Matte Red.  Since it is hard to engrave on a 1 inch award I left it blank.  Here is what I was using for my inspiration.

Do you remember in school they would give awards out like these to the "lesser" sports teams.  Like Chess club, Band, Orchestra and Choir.  At least they did at my school.  They were a bit different then these, there was a wood plaque, a gold edging around it then a silver face on it that had the engraving on it.  Kinda looked something like this.

Now that it i done I wish I had made it wider in the middle but I love the colors.  That silver is one of my most favorite colors.

Also this week over at the Facebook group  Seedbeadersters I finished last Months challenge (a little late)  using the chenille stitch this last week and posted it there but I do love the colors and the feel of the necklace.  I wore it to town yesterday and it felt great.

For this necklace I used the chenille stitch, and 7 different colors of seed beads.  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet and White.  It is a rainbow necklace.  Well minus the indigo lol.

Hope you like the necklace.  Enjoy your week and all the extra sunshine we will now be getting!  Also, don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out all the great artwork by all the talented ladies there.

  1. I think what you do has to be the most challenging. First, you're working with tiny beads in a tiny space, but then you have to translate your vision into something that can be put together with beads. You continually amaze me with your pieces and this one is no exception. Great idea and excellent execution. NAILED IT!

  9. Very clever idea. It's quite a difficult theme - how to transport "engrave" to an beaded inchie. I love how it came out.
