Killer week!

I just want to say happy Memorial Day everyone.  May God bless those who bless us by protecting us, and bless the families who have lost a soldier.  We appreciate all their sacrifices.

This week over at Every Inchie Monday  the theme is "Killer".  I really had to rack my brain over this.  I just could not think of what to do.  I mean, a bloody knife?  A killer bee?  Or some other "killer" kinda item?

I decided to just leave it until later on so I could take time to think about it.   Then I watched one of my favorite movies from the 80's.  Clue.

Dontcha just love this movie.  So many plays on words, Tim Curry, and of course murder!!!  When I was designing the inchie all I could think about was this movie.  So how to incorporate this into my inchie.  Here is what I came up with.  One of the most recognizable murder weapons in Clue is the candlestick, and when you think of the game you think of the game pieces, Plum, White, Green, Peacock, Scarlet and of course Mustard.

In the end I was able to put all of those into an inchie.  I hope that you like it.

As you can see, there is a candlestick above the game pieces.  I also situated the game pieces staggered behind the first one.   I used 8 colors of Delicas, All frosted transparent, except the pink and silver.

Dont forget to fly on over to EIM and check out all the other "killer" inchies!  (Been waiting for that one for a while LOL)

Jolly! Jolly! Jolly!

This weeks theme over at Every Inchie Monday is Jolly-Boat.  I had to research what a Jolly-Boat was.  Wikipedia (gotta love Wikipedia!) says that a jolly boat is, "The jolly boat was a type of ship's boat in use during the 18th and 19th centuries. The origins of the name is the subject of debate, but it was by the 18th century one of a number of ship's boats, and was used mainly to ferry personnel to and from the ship, or for other small scale activities. The design continued to evolve throughout its period in service."

Now this being said, I decided that since the time frame of the term "jolly-boat" was from the 18th and 19th centuries; I would go with something from that time period.  A Jolly Roger.  Wikipedia says that Jolly Roger is, "any of various flags flown to identify a ship's crew as pirates that were about to attack. The flag most commonly identified as the Jolly Roger today is the skull and crossbones."

I mostly decided to use a jolly roger because I used a boat back on 10.1.12 when the theme was "Boat".  I didn't want to have one again so I came up with the Jolly Roger.

Boat Inchie

For this weeks inchie I used Black and white delicas.  I really love how cute he looks as well.  I may have to make this again as earrings or charms.  Not sure yet.  Hope you like it.

Jet On Over To My Place!

It is Monday all over again!  Every Inchie Monday is just the best part of Monday.  Also, I just wanted to give a late Mother's day shout out to everybody.

This week over at EIM the theme is "Jet".  I did a search for Jet and saw the airport symbol for "plane" and thought that would be the best thing for me to design.  It is simple in design but I love the angles on it.  If you dont know by now I love geometric shapes and designs.  So something like this with angles and clean lines are right up my alley.  Hope you like it.

Dont forget to fly on over to EIM and see all the cool jet inchies they have there.  Thanks again for coming by for a visit, and I hope that you have a blessed and creative week.

Indigo and a New Piece

This week over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is Indigo.  This one was a hard one for me.  I thought about it forever.  Weeks!  i just couldn't think of anything for this theme.  Then I did a internet search and found out there is a flower named indigo.  Here is a picture I used for inspiration.

I originally was going to have what looked like blurry flowers in the background but it just didn't look right with the colors I had picked out for the flower, so I just did the background color in an off-white.  I do like how it came out.   I used 3 colors of Delicas having the white background, green and purple for the flower.

This week I also finished another commission piece for a friend at work.  He wanted a  mirror dangle of the flag of Laos, where his father is from.  I like how it turned out & I know he will love it.  I used 3 colors of Delicas; red, white and blue.  I also used a wine cork and 2 lobster claw clasps. Sorry for the blurry picture, I am not skilled with the camera on my phone.

Hope you have a blessed week and dont forget to fly on over to EIM to check out all the other great artwork from all of the awesome artist.

A Very Implausible Weekend.

This weekend has been a rough one around here.  A very implausible one indeed.  Sunday night bad weather hit the south in horrible ways.  We had thunderstorms, lightening and hard rain.   All of which turned quickly into tornadoes.  We had a few touch down with 16 dead and 2 cities almost completely destroyed.  Me and my family were spared from the tornadoes but I have been praying for those who lost so much.

During the storms I did beadwork to calm my worries over the weather, and this was what I got done.  My inchie for this week, the theme aptly named "implausible".

My thought on the theme was that what is the biggest implausible thing?  Well, a question!  With this one I used 2 colors of beads.  A shade of white and a metallic blue.

Dont forget to fly on over to Every Inchie Monday and check out the great artwork by all of the awesome ladies.

Take care and stay safe my friends.

"Hot" Off the Presses

I hope that everyone has had a great Easter.  Mine was great.  I celebrated my birthday and Easter by going out to dinner with my Mom and my kids.  Then me and my daughter searched all over town for some Cadbury's Cream Eggs.  (Those things are very elusive!), while my son went to work a half day at his new job.

This week's theme at Every Inchie Monday is "Hot" and I had tons of great ideas.  Ideas that I am sure many of the other artists over at Every Inchie Monday thought of as well.  I thought about flames, or writing the word "HOT" with flames behind it.

The problem is that I am 'limited' by my own overactive imagination.  Which, many times will remember and rehash old ideas into new ones.  I know EVERYBODY does that as well.  But I try not repeat myself.  But I try not repeat myself.  ;)

When I thought about the theme this week, my first thought was flames, but I did that on 4.16.12.

Then i thought about doing some wild random colors with shades of fire, but then i did that one on 3.3.14.

Then I thought about doing flames coming off the sun kinda design, but then I did that one on 1.23.12.

About that time it was almost dinner time!  That was it!  Food is hot right?  But then again I have already done food as well on 12.23.13.

GRRRRRRRRR!  Then it dawned on me.  Food has steam and steam is HOT!  YEA!  I got it done, something that I had not thought of yet, lol.  Until next time that is when I got to think of something else similar.

In this inchie I used 3 colors of Delicas, light blue, white, and matte transparent grey.  This is a hot bowl of mashed potatoes, (or rice) with steam coming off of them.   Hope you like them.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out all the great artwork from all these talented ladies.

Head's Up!

Well I am so glad that last weeks issues stayed in last week!  LOL  This weekend I have been hanging out with my kids.  My daughter on Saturday, and then my Son on Sunday.  That doesn't always happen like that but this weekend it did and it was awesome to just hang with each kid individually.

This week over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is "Head".  I had a few trials and errors with this theme.  First off I thought about a head of lettuce, but after designing it, it just looked like a green blob!  Next idea was a bust of a head; which looked like a grey blob!  Then I came up with the idea that finally stuck.  A side view of a head of a nail!

I used one of my favorite colors of Delica seed beads, the metallic silver.  I also used a gunmetal AB bead as the nail head.   Real simple design but I love the look of it.  Also a cool side note to this is that when the light hits the gunmetal beads it looks like an AB blue color.  Really cool, just sad that it doesn't show well in the pictures.

Don't forget to fly over to EIM and check out all the great artwork.  Have a blessed day everybody and thanks for zooming on by.
