Orange is the New Black..err...Inchie.

Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.  As many of you know I tend to think abstractly when it comes to my inchie designs.  This week is no exception.  Over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is "Orange".  I wracked my brain on this weeks theme.  For a few weeks actually.  I mean do you do the color orange or AN orange?  Neither one screamed at me.  Then I remembered a shirt that I saw.

Woot Shirt
Knock Knock

Isn't this a cute shirt?  Do you remember this joke?  Don't you hate this joke!?!?  Yes to both of these!  LOL  I even saw somewhere online that this is the most hated joke EVER!  I believe it!  LOL.  But, I just could not get it out of my mind.  The issue of course is to how to translate that to an inch?  I think I did a good job on this one, don't you?

I really love it.  Orange you glad?  Of course you are, mainly because I didn't ask the joke LOL.  Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out all the awesome work done by the ladies this week.  Have a blessed week.

The Odd Man Out

This weeks theme over at Every Inchie Monday is Odd.  My first thought was to do all of the odd numbers that I could fit in an inchie.   I think that I did a good job of it.  What do you think?

I used 2 colors of delicas, a opaque royal blue and opaque matte red.  I like the opposite finishes, a very odd combo indeed ;)  I was so excited to be able to get 1,3,5,7 and 9 in the inchie.

Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out all the odd inchies over there.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a blessed and beady week.

A Special Navy Inchie

This weeks theme over at Every Inchie Monday is Navy.  My first thought was the USS Cole.  I used to know a lady whose Son lost his life on the USS Cole.  So I felt like I wanted to make an inchie that embodied the Cole and showed my admiration for the sacrifice of our Military .

For those of you who aren't familiar with the Cole, here is a bit of information on it.  You can follow the link to get more info about it.

On the morning of Thursday, 12 October 2000, USS Cole docked in Aden harbor for a routine fuel stop.  Around 11:18 local time (08:18 UTC), a small craft approached the port side of the destroyer, and an explosion occurred, creating a 40-by-40-foot gash in the ship's port side.  The blast hit the ship's galley, where crew were lining up for lunch.  17 sailors were killed and 39 were injured in the blast.  The attack was the deadliest against a U.S. naval vessel since the Iraqi attack on the USS Stark on 17 May 1987.  The attack was organized and directed by the terrorist organization al-Qaeda, led by Osama bin Laden who boasted about the attack and encouraged similar attacks.

President Bill Clinton declared, "If, as it now appears, this was an act of terrorism, it was a despicable and cowardly act. We will find out who was responsible and hold them accountable".

I pray for the families who have lost a loved one in the military and I pray for all of those brave Men and Women who fight for our freedom.

Don't Be So Negative!

This week's theme over at Every Inchie Monday is "negative".  After a long time trying to think about what to do I finally settled with a negative symbol.  I just could not figure out what to do.  Then when I saw all the cool idea's of the ladies at EIM i was surprised at all the ways they went about the theme.  Great job everyone.

Don't forget to fly on over to EIM to see all the awesome ideas they came up with.  So, see you until next week when I hope I can be more creative.  Have a blessed and creative week.

Just in the "Maroon" of Time!

Over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is Maroon.  I couldn't wait for this weeks inchie.  I had to think real hard over this one, my first thought had nothing to do with the color maroon, but rather the band maroon 5.  Well, I figured everyone might be thinking the same thing as I was so I racked my brain for a different direction.  But I still came back to the same idea.  Maroon 5.  (kinda think Adam Levine is a cutie) So here is my inchie, with a AB pearl background and an opaque matte red number 5, which is the closest color I had to the color Maroon.

Hope you like it and for all of you who are in the States, I wish you a happy 4th of July.  I will be working on the 4th, but for the rest of you I hope you get to spend time with family, cook out and enjoy the fireworks.  Don't forget to give thanks to those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.  God bless America.

Also don't forget to fly on over to EIM to check out the rest of the great artwork done by the awesome ladies this week.

"Maid" it Just in Time

Do you remember me telling you that I (almost) always go with my first thought on a theme?  Well, sometimes it is the 15th thought that I go with LOL.  This weeks theme over at Evey Inchie Monday is Maid.

So many ideas in my head.  A feather duster; ummm.... not in beads, thank you very much!  Then I think about the black and white clothes that maids wear....  again.... not in beads!  Then I had to try to figure out what is the one thing that all maids have in common.  Whether it is our Mom, the hotel maid or housekeeping in a hospital, what is the one thing that they have in common?  Cleaning supplies!!!!  Bingo!!! There is the inspiration!  So there it is,  and here it is!  Two bottles of cleaning supplies for the well prepared maid.

Hope you like it.  I adore the colors on this inchie.  The inchie has 6 colors, and I love the purple in this one.  It is hard to see it but it is sparklie.  YAY sparklies!! LOL
Don't forget to fly over to EIM to check out all the other great inchies.  Have a blessed week!

Lavender Inchie Love

This week's theme over at Every Inchie Monday is Lavender.  You ever have one of those times when you and creativity don't get along?  Kinda like a married couple who have a fight and don't speak to one another?  Well, that was me this week.  Creativity and me seemed to have a disagreement and creativity left for work and didn't even say goodbye!  LOL

That all being said, this last week has been another long one.  I put in another 1500 miles of driving!  Which is why this post is late.  I got home on Sunday night and was way too tired to do my inchie.

I tried to think of what to design.  I thought about lavender flowers but each design I did just didn't look right.  It was not until I saw other artists designs that I thought about a sachet.  I never even thought about that!  Since I am sensitive to strong smells (because of my allergy related asthma)I don't use sachets or candles of any kind.  So that would have never came to my mind.

This is what I came up with, a color block pattern.  Now, if I had been smart I might have said it was a bar of soap but even that didn't come to me until I started to type the blog, LOL.  Blame it on me being tired!  Lets hope that next week me and creativity will make up and be friends again.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out all the awesome artwork from all these talented ladies.
